Sausage Dog

This photograph evokes intrigue in me. What is this dog doing standing in front of this red background? Is it getting photographed? 

I took this picture after the end of the Friday prayers. At that time, people were allowed to use public open spaces for prayer. This frame presents a contradiction between the 5-star hotel in the background and the busy foreground, where people are seen wrapping up the events. The sandy, dusty ground enhances the rustic feel.
